Meet Our Southern California Estate Planning Lawyer
Lindsey Chaney is the owner and attorney of Chaney Counsel, where she helps individuals and families with estate planning, special needs planning, trust administration, and probate. Lindsey serves clients throughout Los Angeles County, Ventura County, and the surrounding Southern California community. Her approach is guided by a simple belief: that legal representation should feel personal, not just procedural.
Education & Credentials
Lindsey earned her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and holds a B.B.A. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is admitted to practice law in California and is a member of the Los Angeles Bar Association, the California Lawyers Association, and the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA).
Lindsey Chaney’s Path to Estate Planning
Before founding Chaney Counsel, Lindsey spent years working in corporate human resources and client relations, developing a deep appreciation for clear communication and genuinely supportive client relationships. She also gained courtroom and litigation experience at The Law Offices of Christopher Chaney & Associates, where she worked as an associate attorney. That combination of corporate client-relations experience and real courtroom exposure continues to shape how Lindsey approaches estate planning today.
Planning With Heart
Lindsey's "planning with heart" approach means taking the time to understand each family's specific goals, relationships, and concerns before recommending anything. She explains the available options in plain language, helping clients understand not just what they're signing, but how each choice fits their family and goals. Lindsey brings warmth and compassion to the emotionally difficult area of estate planning and estate administration, and her genuine care puts clients at ease as they prepare for the future.
A Personal Connection to Special Needs Planning
Lindsey's focus on special needs planning is shaped by her own family's experience navigating disability-related systems and long-term planning considerations. That firsthand experience gave her real insight into the emotional and practical challenges caregivers face, and it continues to inform how she listens to and plans for the families she works with today.
